Casting God's Vision - podcast notes
Vision, focus, perspective. Eye on the prize. When our eye is single, and focused we don't get distracted by what's in our peripheral vision. Physical and emotional offenses, hurts and pain fall to way side when passionate determination to achieve the vision takes over.
Vision plan -> passion, determination, fixated -> take action, put the walk in the talk, stay focused, ignore distractions, keep perspective.
Vision - Foresight, insight, oversight.
Prophesy, wisdom, accountability.
“fixing our eyes on Jesus, the originator and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider the one who endured such hostility by sinners against himself, so that you will not grow weary in your souls and give up.”
Hebrews 12:2-3 LEB
“I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
Psalm 16:8 NIV
“Let your eyes look directly ahead [toward the path of moral courage] And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you [toward the path of integrity]. Consider well and watch carefully the path of your feet, And all your ways will be steadfast and sure. Do not turn away to the right nor to the left [where evil may lurk]; Turn your foot from [the path of] evil.”
PROVERBS 4:25-27 AMP
“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”
Matthew 6:22 KJV
Supplemental note: Those who have singular focus on accomplishing the goal and the vision will have excitement, passion, and enthusiasm that won't burn out. Are we waking up every morning ready to charge, or are we dreading the day? What's our motivation? If we've lost our "why", then we've lost sight of the vision.
